Simon MacCorkindale
(Range 40-60)

Award-winning actor, director, producer & screenwriter, Simon personifies the suave, sophisticated British leading man, most recently as Harry Harper in "Casualty" (BBC1).

His career began with "Pygmalion" in the West End, followed by extensive work on TV, including "I Claudius" and "Jesus of Nazareth". Film roles quickly followed, such as "Juggernaut", "Riddle of the Sands" and the acclaimed "Death on the Nile".

Moving to Hollywood in the early 1980s, Simon starred in "Jaws 3", and "The Quatermass Conclusion", and in popular TV series like "Dynasty", "Hart to Hart", "Matt Houston" and "The Dukes of Hazzard". He starred in "Manimal" for NBC, followed by the mini-series "The Manions of America".

In Los Angeles he directed "The Merchant of Venice", "A Doll's House" (1982 Dramalogue Award) and "Sleuth". He also appeared in "The Importance of Being Oscar" and starred in the hugely popular "Falcon Crest" with Jane Wyman, Gina Lollobrigida & Anne Archer.

Back in the UK, he formed a production company with his wife, Susan George, producing "Stealing Heaven", "That Summer of White Roses" (Grand Prix, Tokyo Film Festival '89) & "The House That Mary Bought". Other highly successful ventures followed, with Simon balancing his producing and acting to star in several international productions.

In 2008, after the UK tour of "Sleuth", he joined "The Sound of Music" at the London Palladium, giving a masterful performance as Capt. Von Trapp, (until February '09).

With a gorgeous narrative style, Simon has a robust, rich, deep voice, full of wit and charm.
