Russell Simpson (Range 18-30)
Born & raised in Belfast, Russell went to senior school in England, then studied at Manchester University for a BA in Spanish, and a BA in Italian, with thoughts of going into the diplomatic service. Spent 2 years in Naples during which, by some accident, he ended up in a funk band, signed to EMI, and had a number 1 hit in Italy! Not ideal diplomatic training.
Returning to England, he attained an MA in Acting at Arts Educational. Russell was immediately taken up as "The Irish Storyteller" in a PR campaign for Bushmills Whisky, touring all over Europe, telling his tall tales in several different languages.
Lots of theatre work since, including "Our Boys", "The Glass Menagerie" and "The Massacre".
Not restricted to Irish, he also has an excellent range of accents, plus RP, and is fluent in French, Italian & Spanish.
A lovely, wry voice, ranging from cheeky youth to an older, thoughtful narrator.
