Paula Wilcox (Range 25-40)
Paula Wilcox was born & raised in Manchester.
While still a member of the National Youth Theatre, Paula was offered her first starring TV role in "The Lovers" by Jack Rosenthal. Since then she has appeared regularly on television, in series, one-off plays and comedies - among her many credits are "Man About the House", "Peter Cook & Friends", "Merseybeat", "The Queen's Nose" and "Footballers Wives".
She has appeared in the West End many times, her roles including Florence the obsessive housewife in Neil Simon's comedy "The (female) Odd Couple"; the Queen in "The Queen and I" by Sue Townsend, and "Shirley Valentine" in Willy Russell's one-woman play. Also, Shakespeare at Regents Park, at the Old Vic in Bristol, and on BBC Radio 3.
Paula features in the TV sitcom "The Smoking Room" (BBC2&3), in "Doctors", "Green Green Grass", "Blue Murder" and "Emmerdale" . She has also appeared regularly on radio including "The Right Time" for Radio 4. On film, Paula can be seen in the Woody Allen movie, "Scoop" and the upcoming, "Outlaw" starring Sean Bean & Bob Hoskins..
For some years Paula was the voice of Renault on radio, and of course has many commercials, narrations and talking books - such as "Coastliners" by Joanne Harris - under her belt. Her voice talents can be heard in the CBBC animated series, "The Large Family". She's known for her straight-talking, no-nonsense style - a feisty, talented actress with "attitude" !
