Maurice Gleeson
(Range 30-45)

Maurice was born in Dublin and after his schooling at Blackrock College, he studied medicine at University College, Dublin. His medical work took him to Kenya, Belfast, Liverpool & eventually London, where he now lives. Prior to launching his acting career, he worked as a psychiatrist in London's East End, and and as a pharmaceutical physician for a variety of drug companies.

Maurice trained at Mountview Theatre School and the Actors Centre, London. Film and TV roles soon followed, including "Westwood Park" (a Trinidadian soap opera), "The Sex Detective", "The Great Dome Robbery", and most recently, "Hear The Silence" with Hugh Bonneville & Juliet Stevenson (autism and the MMR dilemma).

Theatre roles have included "Twelfth Night", "Henry IV", "Falstaff", "Fly Me to the Moon", "Legoland" & "Room Service" - and his performance in "Sticks and Stones" at the Bridewell received the "acting accolade" from the Irish Post. Recent theatre includes "The Lieutenant of Inishmore" (Olivier Award for Best Comedy 2003), "Runners" and "Boom Boom Mr Goat".

Voice work includes medical narratives (obviously a speciality!), cartoon characters for educational material, corporate work for Royal Liver, and commercials include Guinness, Disprin and Sky Digital.
