Lennie James (Range 20-35)
Born in South London, to Trinidadian parents. Lennie received his training at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. He's an actor revered by other actors - said one, "He seems to do very little, but acts us all off the screen".
Recent TV credits are: "Born With Two Mothers", "Frances Tuesday", "Family Business", "Without You" and "Buried". He's also appeared in "Undercover Heart" "Cold Feet", "Out of the Blue", "Comics", "A Touch of Frost" & "Civvies". Lennie's semi-autobiographical screenplay "Storm Damage" screened on BBC2, "One of the most heartfelt films of the year" (D.Mail).
Lennie appeared with Brad Pitt in "Snatch" (dir.by Guy Ritchie), and with Kathy Burke & Lee Evans in "The Martins". He co-starred with James Nesbitt in the hit film "Lucky Break", and recently starred in "24 Hour Party People" and "Sahara" with Penelope Cruz & Matthew McConaughey. Earlier films include "Elephant Juice", "Lost in Space", "Les Miserables" and "Among Giants".
Theatre includes: "Two Gentlemen of Verona", "Macbeth", "This is a Chair", "Pericles" & "The Coup". He gave a towering performance in "A Raisin In The Sun" at the Young Vic, and was equally praised for "Fallout" at the Royal Court. In 2005, there will be a UK tour of "A Raisin In The Sun", starting and ending in London.
Lennie's seamless, velvety tones adapt to English, Caribbean & African accents. Commercials: Air Jamaica, Western Union, B.I.W.A., Centrum, Guinness, Malibu, and Metropolitan Police. He narrated Carlton's 2-part series on Operation Trident, "Guns On Our Streets", and also fronted & narrated an "Omnibus" documentary on Nigerian Art.
