Joanna Wake (Range 45-65) Born & educated in Sussex, she attended RADA, following that up with experimental work with Jacques Tati in Paris. She's a founder member of the Young Vic Company with whom she stayed for 4 years, playing many of the classic roles. Many & diverse roles have followed, including Stephanie in "To Kill a Mockingbird" (Bromley & national tour), the title role in "Mrs Warren's Profession", Mrs.Jennings and Mrs. Dashwood in "Sense and Sensibility", and the title role in "Ma Kelly Plays It Safe". She's played leading roles with the Glasgow Citizens Theatre, and the Cambridge Theatre Company. Major plays on the London stage include "Dangerous Corner", "Getting Married", "The Taming of the Shrew", "She Stoops to Conquer", "Romeo and Juliet" and "Richard II". Joanna has appeared in a host of TV productions including "Alan Clark's Diaries", "Doctors", "The Brides in the Bath", "Grafters", and she appeared regularly as Gloria in "Family Affairs". Most recently she appeared in "The Mousetrap". A veteran of TV and radio commercials, Joanna has the ability to sweep from lower to upper class, through a range of ages, and some superb dialects. She has worked extensively for the BBC Radio Rep. and appeared in a large number of radio plays.
