Hugh Dancy (Range 18-35)
Born and raised in Stoke on Trent, Hugh went to Oxford University to study English Literature, graduating in 1997 with a BA in English Literature.
He began acting professionally in 1998, and has never looked back! Theatre includes "To The Green Fields Beyond" for Sam Mendes at the Donmar, and "Billy & the Crab Lady" for Abigail Morris at the Soho Theatre.
Film roles include David in "David Copperfield", d'Artagnan in "Young Blades", Prince Char in "Ella Enchanted" Galahad in "King Arthur" and the lead opposite John Hurt in "Shooting Dogs".. He also appeared as Aiden in the feature "Blood and Chocolate".
Many TV roles too - Danny in "Cold Feet", Leon in "Madame Bovary", the lead role in "Daniel Deronda" and the Earl of Essex to Helen Mirren's "Elizabeth the First".
He now has a transatlantic career, having spent several months filming in the States on "Evening", and "The Jane Austen Bookclub", his co-stars including Meryl Streep, Toni Collette & Vanessa Redgrave, followed by a play "Journey's End", on Broadway.
A hot young property, Hugh has a calm, reflective manner and excellent instincts for timing and delivery. The voice is youthfully mature, rich and quite deep. And the showreel delivers a few surprises too !
