Carol Royle

After training at the Central School of Speech and Drama, Carol appeared for 3 years in a soap opera, "The Cedar Tree" for ITV. She has worked for the RSC, playing Ophelia in "Hamlet" (London Drama Critics Award for Most Promising Actress), Cressida in "Troilus and Cressida", Mrs Arbuthnot in "A Woman of No Importance" and Titania in "A Midsummer Night's Dream". For Birmingham Rep. played Kate in "Old Times" and May in "The Four Alice Backers". She appeared in "I'll Be Back Before Midnight", "Dangerous Obsession" and "Bedroom Farce" at Windsor, followed by "Private Lives" at Theatre Clwyd, and Lady Bracknell in "The Importance of Being Earnest", "See You Next Tuesday" (on tour & West End), "Going Straight" and the critically acclaimed, "Festen" (West End).

Carol's TV series include "Heartland", "Girl Talk", "Oxbridge Blues" , "Ladies in Charge" ( TV series and film), three series of the sitcom "Life Without George" and Dennis Potter's "Blackeyes". TV films include "Waxwork", "When the Wall Comes Tumbling Down", and "Hedgehog Wedding". Also on TV, "The Racing Game", "The Professionals" (2 episodes), "Casualty", "The Bill" (2 episodes), "Thief Takers", "Bergerac", "Crime Traveller" , "Grange Hill", "Heartbeat"(4 episodes) , "Second Sight", 36 episodes of "Crossroads", "Doctors" and "The Gil Mayo Murders".

Films include "Tuxedo Warrior" and "Deadline".

She recorded the letters of Emily Buchanan for Woman's Hour. Among her many long-running commercial campaigns are those for Chanel and Playtex.

Very much in demand over the years, Carol is a gifted actress, with a warm, friendly and calm approach. She's versatile on accents, clever and inventive in the studio.
